3D Realms revives the 1999 Kingpin PC shooter • newsdio

3D Realms has announced Kingpin: Reloaded, a remaster of the classic 1999 PC shooting game Kingpin: Life of Crime.

Kingpin: Reloaded is described as an improved and remastered version of the original, co-edited by 3D Realms and Interplay, and will go on sale on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC later in 2020. Here is the official summary:

"In a stylized art deco noir land that never existed, the Kingpin rules above all with a bloody fist. When his lieutenant Nikki Blanco leaves an unnamed thug beaten and broken, the emerging criminal rises from a pool of blood, lead pipe in hand and revenge in mind. "

Expect 4K resolution, ultra-wide support and improved graphics in enhanced mode. There is driver support and new search and conversation systems. The multiplayer Gang Bang mode is present and is correct. The Nonviolence mode gets rid of violence, as expected, but the deep dialogues by which the original was known remain.

Kingpin was perhaps the most famous for the controversy surrounding him, particularly in the United States. His violence and profanity caught the attention of several congressmen, who debated the game on the floor of the United States Senate.
