Manoj Tiwary, a cricketer found the time to be perfect for joining the Trinamool Congress, with respect to the election scenario in West Bengal. Yes, he has joined TMC at the time when the Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee was touring the Hooghly district for a rally. The news gains significance as famous personalities, he has an awesome fan base and the political parties are expected to derive leverage from their popularity which sometimes do work wonders in ensuring more votes.
Gautam Gambhir
The name which hold a lot of significance in the cricketing field not just due to the awesome performance, but also due to the seriousness which was depicted in the face. Many have termed that his name totally complimented his personality as he used to be very serious on the field. Now, that he has joined the BJP party in 2019, and the reason attributed by him was that, he was quite inspired by the ideology of Narendra Modi which necessitated him to work on the same path. It was in March, 2019, that he officially joined the party. The man played a pivotal role in the victory of India, in 2011 World Cup.
Navjot Singh Sidhu
The man who has proven his worth in the field was also known to laugh out lot in one of the popular comedy shows where his hysterical laugh is still fresh in the minds of one and all. After retirement, he found the association with the local party in the state of Punjab, where he took the charge by looking at the affairs of Tourism and Cultural Affairs.
Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi
The man was one of the first few who joined politics. Many also say that since he joined politics, so naturally the trend was started for cricketers who made their foray into politics. However, he couldn’t experience a successful inning in the new profession he joined, as he tasted subsequent defeats in the two Lok Sabha elections, where he contested. Thereafter, the man decided not to try his luck again, and mostly stayed away from politics.
Mohammad Azharuddin
The man started his new innings by joining congress in the year 2009. Azhar was able to won the elections of Moradabad with huge margin as the public wanted him to work for their constituency. But little everyone know that he couldn’t allot sufficient time for the same, after becoming Member of Parliament. Azhar was a successful personality, when he led the team India in 47 tests, during the golden era of 1990s.
Kirti Azad
Kirti Azad served another role after joining politics and contesting elections from Darbhanga and luckily he won it. However, as the circumstances unfolded, he joined Congress. The man has served a key role in the 1983 World cup which brought laurels for India.
