Drishya kabhi jhooth nahi bolte. Vijay Salgaonkar started the story of Drishyam with this promise, and now, he has ended the franchise saying, Filmon ka sach hona zaroori nahi hai, sach lagna zaroori hai! Ajay Devgn’s class franchise has concluded its story, with the case against the Salgaonkars closed. They are now free to live peacefully and move on with their lives. But the question remains – Is this really the end?
Drishyam Franchise’s One Motive – Protecting Family!
The franchise’s single motive was to protect the Salgaonkars, who killed the son of the IG, Goa, Meera Deshmukh. The killing was an accident since Sam, aka Sameer Deshmukh, inappropriately recorded Anju Salgaonkar, the elder daughter of the Salgaonkars. While he was blackmailing Sam, Mrs Nandini Salgaonkar, in a tiff, accidentally kills him. Since then, the Salgaonkars have been trying to protect each other, denying having known Sam after Vijay Salgaonkar very carefully removed every proof of knowing Sam!
The Deshmukhs – Waiting For Justice!
Meanwhile, lawfully, we see the Deshmukhs – Meera (Tabu), and Mahesh (Rajat Kapoor), who have lost their son Sam. They did not even have a closure, and do not know what happened to him! They are seeking justice for their son Sam, and now they are so irked by the Salgaonkars and their lies that they want justice for the soul of their son Sameer Deshmukh! Drishyam 3 still does not give justice to Sam! Which leads us to the next obvious question – has the franchise really concluded?

No matter what, the Salgaonkars committed a crime, and have been committing it ever since! They do not trust the law, they do not trust the police, and clearly, this generates empathy for them! In the last two parts, Meera has tried to turn the tables but has still not been able to outshine Chauthi Fail Vijay Salgaonkar! But a Mother’s revenge is often deadly! Will she return yet again to settle the score with Vijay Salgaonkar, if not on record, then maybe off record?!

Drishyam: The Conclusion might have concluded the franchise, but the film still leaves open ends to explore! While the story has distinctly separated itself from the Malayalam storyline, it now stands independent with a lot of open ends. What happens to Christopher Pereira’s body? Will police ever find out the reality of the skeleton in his coffin? Will Deshmukhs finally accept that they got Sam’s ashes from Vijay Salgaonkar? Is there actually much more than what our eyes met in Drishyam: The Conclusion?
Well, as the writer Murad said in the film, ‘Vijay Ki Kahani Mein Aage Kya Hoga, Ye Ya To Vijay Jaanta Hai Yaa Khuda!’
