Pradhama Drishtya Kuttakkar Ending Explained: How Did Parvathy’s Character Get Away After Confessing To The Crime? – Climax Twist Decoded!

Parvathy Thiruvothu played a cop for the first time in her two-decade career. Directed by Shahad, Pradhama Drishtya Kuttakkar is an intelligent crime thriller. The Malayalam film keeps you guessing about the next move of its four cops, who accidentally land themselves in a sticky situation. The film also delivers intriguing twists that teach you a thing or two. What makes it even more interesting is the way the story progresses, keeping you invested in every moment.

The film follows the story of Aleena Abraham (Parvathy Thiruvothu), who receives a police job offer after an officer kills her husband in the line of duty. The department posts her at the Nattakam Police Station as a CPO to handle the women’s help desk. There, she meets ASI Dasan (Sidharth Bharathan), CPO Divya Abhilash (Unnimaya Prasad), and CPO Sreenath Ayyappan (Matthew Thomas). One night, while on duty, the four accidentally shoot a man inside the police station. The cops now face two options: admit their crime and go to prison, or find a strategic way out.

However, Crime Branch DySP Harris Meeran (Vijayaraghavan) complicates matters by growing suspicious of the four cops. Harris is investigating another murder, and his trail leads him to the Nattakam Police Station.

Warning: The Following Text Contains Spoilers!

The four cops on duty that fateful night brought in a man who tried to evade a police check. He was chased down by on-duty police and brought to the station. He tried to escape when the police were about to check his car’s luggage compartment. In the scuffle that ensued, the victim was shot with a police gun, and all four cops had their hands on the gun when the trigger was pulled.

The Ballistic Test

This is an absolute turning point in Pradhama Drishtya Kuttakkar. The investigating officer, DySP Harris, is confident that the ballistic test will help him seal the case and put all four cops behind bars. As an audience member, you might also have been convinced that their game was up. Or at least, you must have been curious about how they would squeeze themselves out of the case.

Harris sets up a whole trial for the four cops. His final attempt is to connect the bullet used in the crime with the gun owned by CPO Divya. The film explains that every bullet fired from a gun leaves a unique ballistic mark that can be matched to the gun it came from. At this point, it is important to note that Divya’s gun had all eight bullets when it was confiscated by Harris. However, even Harris knew that a bullet could easily be arranged by the cops. The only way to test whether the bullet recovered from the crime scene belonged to the same gun was through a ballistic test.

Sounds simple, right? But the crime bullet fails the ballistic test. It turns out that the bullet was not fired from Divya’s gun, which goes on to prove that her gun was not the one that caused the victim’s death.

The Narco Analysis

DySP Harris is surely baffled by this turn of events. He knows that the bullet was changed. But what confuses him even more is that he had retrieved information about the crime bullet from Aleena through narco analysis. So, how did Aleena evade the test? She had anticipated this move, as Harris had mentioned using narco analysis in one of his previous cases in his book. Throughout the film, Aleena treats Harris’s book, which recounts his real-life investigation experiences, as her Bible.

Call it Harris’s undoing, but by revealing his tactics in a book, he might have allowed a potential criminal mind to stay one step ahead of him. When Aleena guessed that Harris would attempt narco analysis, she also prepared herself to evade the test. A simple internet search led her to the solution: narco analysis could be avoided with chemicals present in the potent drug MDMA (we are not sure how true this theory is. If you happen to know about this, drop your thoughts in comments). She kept the substance handy because she wanted to lead Harris to the place where she had planted a fake crime bullet in a book. No prize for guessing which one: it was the novel written by Harris himself.

Where Is The Real Bullet?

Yes, the film’s climax finally reveals the truth behind the real bullet. It turns out that Aleena melted the bullet and turned it into a ring that she wears. She replaced her initial wedding ring with it. The story had already established that Aleena’s father was into welding and had a workshop at their home. Surely, Aleena must have picked up the skills as a child and carried out the process in the garage.
