It doesn’t take much of a time for Vignesh Sundaresan and Anand Venkateswaran to do a big financial dealing of $69.3 million.
So, what was it?
Well, it related with buying a digital artwork for such a big amount, as this artistic piece has a historical importance.
The duo were part of many others who were taking part in an auction and it took time for them to sink in the feeling that they have actually won the artistic creation which consisted of a collaage of 5000 images by Beeple, an artist.
The online auction gathered even more curiosity as he was refreshing the page in order to know further developments all through the auction procedure.
The auction which took place on March 11, has regarded the artwork to be the most expensive pieces which has gathered such a big amount by a living artist.
The painting has now joined the likes of pool painting by David Hockney along with a rabbit sculpture by Jefff koons.
Venkateswaran along with his friend is also a business partner while taking time to realize that they have undergone such a landmark purchase.
Although, they have the same interest, however that wasn’t the case when their friendship became close right in the year 2003, when they first met. Yes, they were working in The Hindu, which is a daily newspaper in Southern India, namely Chennai.
Sundaresan was working as a technology consultant, while Ventakteswaran was working for the post of a journalist.
Their humble upbringing can be seen by anyone who met them. Venkateswaran shares a nostalgic experience about how Sundaresan during early years used to practice coding with the flash drive where he requests his friend to give him laptop for some time.
However, he has scaled heights and has really played well in terms of investing in cryptocurrency ventures along with investments.
Sundaresan has a far sighted approach where he invested under the guidance of his partner Venkateswaran as the duo then began exploring the world of NFTs.
Sundaresan knows how much he holds proximity with the virtual world and he has created a persona Metakovan to the same. The actual meaning of the name is “King of Meta” in Tamil language. While Ventateswaran who is married with two kids and lives in the ever growing city of Chennai is loved to be referred as Twobadour.
Airing his views about the picture they have collectively purchased, it is true that not all the 5000 are masterpieces, but when it comes to taking a specific care about all of them combined then they have greater significance. Yes, they can be seen telling about the collective importance which the artist has tried to essay through the painting. Even though, not everything which he has depicted is the work of Gold. One wish them best of luck and lots of prayers for their future venture where they can rise to further heights of popularity in the times to come.
