AEW Double or Nothing Results: Cody Rhodes Wins TNT Championship, Mike Tyson Stops Jake Roberts | Newsdio

Cody Rhodes and Lance Archer competed in Double Or Nothing in the TNT Championship final with Mike Tyson on hand to present the title to the match winner.

Archer pulled a fighter out of the back and hit him in the ring during his inning. Archer was accompanied to the ring by Jake Roberts and Rhodes was accompanied by Arn Anderson. Tony Schiavone noted that the belt is not complete due to the pandemic and gold plating will be added to the sides at a later time.

This was tough from the start. They went out into the ring in the first few minutes and Archer lifted Cody off a platform and threw him onto the floor of the ring. Cody continued to take a beating for several more minutes, except for a couple of places where he was briefly able to defend himself. Tyson was shown at ringside multiple times and one of those times the camera caught him yawning.

There was a crazy place where Archer picked up Cody and the military pressed him onto the ring and onto the pole and onto the ground and Cody landed hard on the ring floor. Archer continued to hit Cody for several more minutes with 90 percent of the offense in the game belonging to Archer. Cody was finally able to block a face-blocking submission, but the referee broke it because he wore Archer's braid of hair around his face. Jake tried to get involved when Cody hit a DDT on Archer. Archer went on the offensive again but was distracted by Arn and Cody took advantage of that with a kick to the head and a top rope cutter. Archer kicked at one.

Cody was eventually able to attack Archer with punches and the elbow Dusty and Cross Rhodes, but Archer kicked him out. Cody hit a Stinger Splash but Archer hit back with a chokeslam that Cody kicked out of. Arn pulled Archer off the top rope as the referee spoke to Jake. Cody hit a suplex reverse avalanche from the top and it looked like Archer could have been hurt. Tyson told the referee about Arn Anderson's actions, so Arn was sent off. Jake was also sent off by the referee. Archer hit a belly on the back suplex. Jake returned with the snake in the bag, but Tyson got up to prevent him from reaching the ring. Cody was able to get up and hit two consecutive Cross Rhodes to win the title.
