Set to hit theatres on May 6, Black Panther will see Black Panther take on Erik Killmonger (Michael B. Jordan) and his army of mercenaries as they try to overthrow Wakanda. The film is expected to focus heavily on themes including revolution, politics, and monarchy.
Black Panther is scheduled to arrive in theaters on February 15, 2018. Black Panther 2 will follow in 2022 with a cast that includes Chadwick Boseman, Michael B. Jordan, Lupita Nyong’o, Danai Gurira, Angela Bassett, Letitia Wright, and Daniel Kaluuya.

Black Panther actor Chadwick Boseman has been talking about Black Panther’s role in Black Panther 2, specifically how he wants his character to evolve within the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). The actor, who plays T’Challa / Black Panther in both Avengers: Infinity War and its sequel, shared a few details about Black panther during an interview with Collider.
Boseman would like to see Wakanda take on a more prominent role moving forward. Black Panther 2 is an upcoming superhero film based on the Marvel Comics character Black Panther, produced by Marvel Studios and distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures. Black Panther 2 is intended to be the eighteenth film in the MCU’s Phase Three slate, and the sequel to Black Panther.
Director Ryan Coogler did not return for Black Panther 2. The Black-sequel will introduce fans to a new director when it arrives next year: Creed filmmaker Steven Caple Jr.. After his work on the Rocky spin-off/sequel Creed (which had him write, direct, and star in), Steven Caple Jr. became one of Hollywood’s most sought after young directors; since then he has attached himself to multiple projects which have since fallen apart, Black Panther 2 is simply the first to come together and become a reality.
In hiring Steven Caple Jr., Black Panther 2 will continue Marvel Studios’ recent tradition of bringing in distinctively new voices to direct their movies. The Black-sequel was originally supposed to be directed by Creed director Ryan Coogler who made history with Black Panther, becoming the first Black man ever to helm a $100 million movie that grossed over $700 million worldwide. Unfortunately for fans of Black Panther 2, Ryan Coogler had to leave Black Panther 2 after scheduling conflicts forced him to drop out of directing duties on Black Panther 2 . Instead he wrote and produced the film.

Cast Black Panther is the first black superhero in mainstream American comics. Black Panther was created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby, and he made his debut in Fantastic Four #52 (July 1966). Black Panther’s real name is T’Challa, who hails from a fictional advanced African nation called Wakanda. The Black Panther character became an instant hit with comic book readers when he debuted 47 years ago. Black Panther now has his own solo series at Marvel Comics as well as being part of the Avengers team.
After the huge success of the Black Panther film, it seems that we will be getting Black Panther 2 sooner than anyone anticipated! Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige confirmed to Entertainment Weekly that Ryan Coogler will miss me okay Black Panther 2. “We absolutely will do that,” Feige said of Black Panther 2.

Marvel has officially announced three new cast members for Black Panther 2 alongside returning players Angela Bassett, Forest Whitaker, Nakia, Shuri, and Okoye.
According to Variety, MCU newcomers include Florence Kasumba ( Black Panther, Captain America: Civil War ), who will play Ayo, a member of Dora Milaje, the Black Panthers’ security force. The cast also includes Black Panther 2 newcomers Sunita Mani ( The Big Sick, Fauda ) and Sterling K Brown ( This Is Us ). Both actors will take on undisclosed roles in Black Panther and Black Panther 2.
Speaking about Black Panther 2 during Marvel’s San Diego Comic-Con panel, co-director Ryan Coogler said that he wanted to work with Boseman again because he enjoys working with him. “He might be one of my favorite people ever,” Coogler added.
Boseman(#BlackPanther) explained how he got the Black Panther 2 part, saying that his Black Panther role was initially a two-minute appearance.
“They asked me to come back for five days of filming and then they called and said, ‘By the way, [we want you] to be in the Black Panther movie.’ I’m like, what? So it’s been a blessing,” he said.
Director Ryan Coogler confirmed Black Panther 2 will feature Ulysses Klaue (Andy Serkis), who made a brief appearance in Black Panther. Set photos from Black Panther have shown T’Challa (Boseman) battling an unidentified man with mechanical arm enhancements. That character is believed to be Ulysses Klaue, one of Black Panther’s most popular villains from the comics.
