Entertainment Weekly spoke to the person who runs the show. The showrunner said that he wanted to use younger actors for the T series.
The person said, “I wanted [the franchise] to go back to its original Child’s Play roots and have the protagonists be kids again. But since we already showed that in the first couple of movies, I wanted to explore something different. This time we are showing young teenagers.”
