Coinbase Pushes Back System Upgrade to August
Coinbase users, take note—the platform’s planned maintenance won’t happen this month after all. The exchange just announced a rescheduled date for its systems upgrade, moving it from July 19 to **August 2, 2025**, starting at 7:00 a.m. PT. The whole thing should wrap up in about three hours, assuming everything goes smoothly.
The delay might not be a big deal for some, but if you were planning trades or transfers around the original date, you’ve got a little extra breathing room now. Still, it’s probably smart to mark the new one on your calendar.
What Won’t Work During the Upgrade
For those three hours, don’t expect to do much trading or moving money around. Coinbase says **Simple and Advanced Trade features** will be down, along with deposits, withdrawals, and transfers out of the platform. Even the Coinbase Card won’t work during that window.
Transfers *into* Coinbase might get stuck in limbo for a bit too—nothing unusual during maintenance, but annoying if you’re in a hurry. On the upside, you can still log in to check your account balance or stare wistfully at your portfolio. Just don’t try to do anything with it.
Should You Worry?
Probably not. Coinbase insists user funds will stay safe, and everything should snap back to normal once the upgrade’s done. But if you’ve got time-sensitive trades or need cash out by a certain date, maybe handle that before August 2. Better safe than staring at a “system maintenance” message when you’re trying to make a move.
New Tokens on the Horizon
In other news, Coinbase dropped a few names of tokens it’s planning to list soon—**QCAD (QCAD), Sky (SKY), and USDS (USDS)**. All three run on Ethereum, so if you’re into ERC-20 tokens, keep an eye out. No exact launch dates yet, though. The exchange says it’s waiting on “market-making support” and making sure the tech side is solid first.
Oh, and **Wormhole (W)** is already live on Coinbase, including the mobile apps. So if you’ve been waiting for that one, it’s good to go.
Nothing groundbreaking here, but worth knowing if you’re active on the platform. Just remember—August 2, plan around it.
