Gomorrah is a TV series based on the book Gomorrah: A Personal Account of the Camorra, written by Roberto Saviano. The show follows a group of criminals who are part of the powerful and ruthless Neapolitan Camorra mafia clan. It centers around crime boss Pietro Savastano (played by Gianfranco Iannacci), his family, and his dealings in Naples’ ghettos. Season 5 has been confirmed to be released sometime this year!
When will Gomorrah: Season 5 Release?
There is no official date for the premiere. But Variety reported that they did a lot of filming in May. The 10-episode season was filmed in both Riga, the capital of Latvia, and Naples, Italy.

Tozzi also says to watch the movie “Gomorrah”. It is a bridge between the fourth and fifth series. This movie looked at a mob assassin’s life.
What is the plot of Gomorrah: Season 5?
Ruggeri is pursuing and moving closer to Gennaro in Season 4 of the series, while also discovering Patrizia. Gennaro, but on the other side, gains knowledge from Michelangelo and delegates about Ruggeri. With the assistance of Michelangelo, he then defends Patrizia.

He interrogates Patrizia about her relationship with Ruggeri and what she told the foe. She vehemently opposes any details, but Gennaro discovers her treachery and executes her and Michelangelo.
Ruggeri seems to be closing in on Genny by the end of Season 4. After they reach an agreement, Patrizia decides to speak with Ruggeri. He is curious about Genny, but when Ruggeri asks Patrizia if she has seen Genny, she pauses.
Genny also meets diplomats and Michelangelo, who will help him free Patrizia. They have a final talk on the private plane after Genny’s plans work out and Patrizia is free. He’s curious about Patrizia’s conversation with Ruggeri, and whether she said anything about him. When she claims she didn’t, Genny doesn’t believe her. Michelangelo and Patrizia are both murdered during the conversation.
After these events in season 4, the story would resume from there. Season 5 will pick up where the previous season left off. Genny is lying low in his hidden underground room after the murders of Michelangelo and Patrizia. Season 5 will concentrate on what destiny has in mind for Genny, with Ruggeri and the police on his tail.
Genny has been through a lot in his life and made a lot of mistakes that have put him in a difficult situation. As the show comes to an end, the fifth and final season will put all of the cards on the table. Can the Savastano family be destroyed?
Who will be starring in Gomorrah: Season 5?
Salvatore Esposito as Genny Savastano; Ivana Lotito as Genny’s wife Azzurra Avitabile; Arturo Muselli as Enzo Sangue Blu; and Marco D’Amore as Ciro Di Marzio. In addition to reprising his role as Ciro, D’Amore will also serve alongside Claudio Cupellini as one of the series’ main directors, with Capellini and D’Amore directing five episodes each.
Is Gomorrah: Season 5 trailer out?
Variety released first-look footage of Season 5 in February. However, the one-minute video doesn’t offer much insight into the plot, instead of showing behind-the-scenes shots of the actors returning to the set to film amid the coronavirus pandemic. An official trailer for Season 5 has not been released yet. I will update this post as more information becomes available.

The critical response to the show’s fourth season has been largely positive. On Metacritic, it holds a score of 83 out of 100 based on 15 reviews and is classified as “generally favorable reviews”. The Guardian called Season four in its review “a gripping continuation” while All About Drama said that Gomorrah‘s success made for “one of the finest crime dramas on TV today”.
