The Woman in the House is the latest release from the critically acclaimed director, who has been on a roll lately. The film follows the story of a woman living with her abusive husband and two children. When she finally finds the courage to leave, the audience will be left wondering if it was worth the risk. This is an emotional thriller that focuses on one family’s struggle with abuse and addiction. It can get very intense at times, but overall this is just another great work from the talented director.

Plot details:
The film is about the woman in the house who starts to question if it’s worth the risk of staying with her husband, a recovering addict, and abuse victim. The woman faces difficult choices when she realizes that while her husband has been sober for three years, he still hasn’t dealt with the trauma from his past and doesn’t fully understand the severity of the relationship.
The story is set in a small Connecticut town and revolves around the title character, Rebecca (Julianne Moore), who has been living with her abusive husband for more than 20 years; she finally finds the courage to leave when he becomes dangerously abusive.
One of the smartest movies that I have seen in a while, but the story can get very intense, and the characters are not always likeable as well. The performances by the cast were amazing!
