Plot details:
Season two will follow monster girls living with humans in Japan. The monster girls have been sent by their respective countries to learn more about the human world and how they handle daily life. They are scheduled to return back home at some point near the end of the season.
The monster girls (Miia, Centorea, Papi, Suu) will be living with Kimihito again and there are new monster girl characters introduced: Manako the magic-user; Rachnera the spider lady; Lala the mermaid.
“Hot Pot Monster Race” is a monster TV show in which monster girls compete against each other while cooking hot pots with various ingredients. It’s hosted by Miia, who has been living as an apprentice chef with the family of her idol Chef Akai (from “Kitchen Princess”).
Manako, with her monster instincts and knowledge of magic, is able to help the girls (and Kimihito) understand monsters better. The monster world’s economy has been taking a hit recently because so few people are buying monster products anymore; one solution that some monster businesses are resorting to is to start offering human products too.
These episodes have been great for showing us what the monster world is like, and how different it is from our own; a lot of the political intrigue we’ve seen has to do with humans trying (and mostly failing) to take advantage of monster culture while still maintaining their dominance in other ways.
