Now it is much easier to get the best broadband offers, as well as TV and telephone, following the new Ofcom rules that are now in force. That means that 20 million people could benefit and one of them could be you.
The new requirements require broadband, television and telephone providers to send important information to customers when their contracts end.
They should also continue to send details regularly after that. So expect communication to increase a bit as of today.
About one in seven people do not know if they are still tied to a contract after it has ended. The new rules are established to help those people who will now be clearly told that they are owed a new agreement and, in addition, obtain the best options for them. For example, the offers that offer the rental of the half price line during the first six months, before going up, will be more expensive in the long term after the end of a contract.
"Millions are paying more than they need"
The new alerts include details about when the contract ends, the price paid before, the changes in the service, the price paid at the end of the contract, the information of the notification period and the best offers and prices available for new customers.
Lindsey Fussell, Director of the Ofcom Consumer Group, said: “Millions of people are without a contract right now and pay more than they need. These new rules make it easier to get a better deal.
"But you don't need to wait to hear from your provider. Just a few minutes of your time could save you hundreds of pounds today."
It could not be easier to save money and improve your provision of broadband, TV or telephone, and we have all the options available for you to choose between our best broadband offers and the best mobile phone offer guides.
