Redmi has established itself as a cost-effective mobile phone brand from Xiaomi. It has briefly presented the audience with high-end mobile phones the upper limit of low-end mobile phones in both appearance and performance who were burnt before under the monopoly of costly phones. This one-of-its-kind strategy from Xiaomi has given Redmi the ultimate success helping it positioned as one of the top players in the market. And now, Xiaomi is back, coming with its new Flagship killer mobile phone, Redmi X.
Design & Display
The Redmi X will have a better and more premium built than its previous phones in Redmi Series. The front and back body will be made up of glass whereas the chassis will be built of aluminium. A 6.3-inch IPS LCD screen at the front and Full HD+ resolution (409ppi) are what you will get from this cool phone from your favourite brand. Though their names sound similar, there is a major difference between the display of iPhone X and Redmi X, unlike the iPhone which is famous for its obstructive notch on display, Redmi X will have a waterdrop-shaped notch on display which will allow the full use of the screen real estate. On the protection side, makers have had used Corning Gorilla Glass 5 on the top of the display. And they are not done yet, there will be an in-display fingerprint reader as well, a first for any Redmi branded smartphone.
If we investigate the camera settings, Redmi X will have a 48MP+5MP dual-camera setup at its rear. The 48MP -inch sensor is Sony’s IMX586, and it has an f/1.8 aperture, phase-detection autofocus, and 4K video recording. With the help of the 5MP secondary sensor, which is used for depth information, the camera of Redmi X will be able to capture images with background blur effect like DSLR cameras. For selfies and video calls, there is a 13MP fixed-focus camera at the front. It can also record Full HD 1080p 30fps videos.
Hardware & Software
The smartphone will be using the Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 chipset and paired with 64GB of internal storage and 4GB of RAM. An exclusive microSD card slot for further storage expansion, up to additional 256GB will also be carved within. The upcoming device will run Android 9 Pie based MIUI 10 software on it adding many additional features, including revolutionary image editor and video player, Dual Apps, App Lock, Mi Cloud, Second Space, themes and wallpaper carousel.
Battery & Connectivity
Redmi Note X will have A 4000mAh battery putting it in the same line as many other mid-range Xiaomi phones. The battery has the advantage of fast charging which can be done using the Quick Charge 4 standard. Connectivity features will include A-GPS, dual-band Wi-FI a/b/g/n/ac, Wi-Fi Direct, Google Cast, Bluetooth 5.0, IR port, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
As of 5th July, Xiaomi Redmi X price in India is expected to be Rs. 15,999. Redmi X launch is expected to be in 23rd August 2019.
