Marvel Studios take the story from a comic book and change it. In this movie, they take away Tony Stark and give the story to Jim Rhodes.
Iron Man’s technology may be stolen by someone bad. They will make other (bad) armor for people to wear. The person might be Hammer or Ezekiel Stane, son of Obadiah. This could be an opportunity for the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) to introduce Iron Man’s classic enemies like Titanium Man, Crimson Dynamo, Beetle.
Marvel might use some of the ideas they have about a movie about War Machine. They were going to talk about tensions between him and the U.S. government, but the movie was never released. If Justin Hammer sells Stark’s Iron Man designs to the U.S. military, this could put Rhodes in a tough spot. He could go to jail and be a fugitive.

Who will be starring in Armor Wars?
So far, the only cast member announced for Armor Wars is Don Cheadle. Given Rhodes’ proximity to the late Tony Stark, there is a good chance that some of Iron Man’s friends will come to the party, including Pepper Potts (Gwyneth Paltrow). Happy Hogan (Jon Favreau) might also come. And maybe even Morgan Stark (LexiRabe). Now that Marvel has announced a series for Stark’s successor, Ironheart (Riri Williams), she is also a possibility.
If Armor Wars loosely follows the comic book storyline of the same name, it also may mean that Justin Hammer (Sam Rockwell) will return. Hammer has been in prison since Iron Man 2. But the Netflix series Luke Cage showed that Hammer’s weapons were still being produced (and hitting the streets) during his absence. If the plot is about the military or the government getting ahold of Stark’s technology, we could also see Thunderbolt Ross getting involved. He is not on good terms with Rhodey.
