Things are getting interesting around here as the tournament begins to recover. That will continue this week, and we'll see more of the TNA world title as well, as Moose shows us more of his relative craziness. To top it all off, Johnny Swinger gets his shot at the X-Division title and they wouldn't be that crazy, would they? Let's do it.
Contest tournament first round: Ace Austin vs. Rhino
Austin is Ken Shamrock's replacement after Shamrock was attacked last week. Rhino pushes him to the floor to start as we need an early breather. Back and Rhino's head wrench doesn't last long, so the threat of a clothesline puts Austin on the ground again. They try again and this time Rhino carries a Gore to scare Austin out for the third time. Rhino follows him this time but is sent to the barricade. That's one with a backdrop over the barricade, but Austin posts it for a long breather.
Rhino lunges to beat the count, so Austin walks away and hits a trampoline in the face by two. We hit the chin, but Rhino is back for a double clothesline. Rhino is the first with some right hands on his head, but Austin drops him again. Ace tops the top, only to become super complex down by two. Austin finds a well-placed chair in the corner but Rhino takes it from him, only to have the referee take it away again. That allows Ace a chance with the baton and the Fold is good for the pin at 10:43.
Outcome: Ace Austin b. Rhino – Double (10:43)
Earlier today, Moose and Josh sat down with Josh saying that Moose is walking around with a worthless title. Moose says this ends when someone beats him, but Josh says you can't decide if a fight is for a title. That doesn't sit well with Moose, and Josh mentioning the suicide that had Moose pinned last week makes it even worse. Moose is willing to give Suicide a rematch and that's it.
Kiera Hogan offers to mentor Tasha Steelz. His way of saying it: "If I like you, I'll take a shit from you." Otherwise, that shit will catch you. Steelz is inside.
Here what else comes.
Dave Crist vs. Crazy Steve
The rest of OVE is here with Dave. Steve elbows him in the corner to start and there's a kick to the knee to get Dave out of the apron. Cue Joseph P. Ryan to see Dave take Steve down and reenter. Some knees in the head keep Steve down and Dave grabs an arm. OVE adds a bit of suffocation from the floor and Dave grabs a Falcon Arrow for two. Steve is back with a half-rope DDT for the fast pin at 4:07.
Outcome: Crazy Steve b. Dave Crist – Medium Rope DDT (4:07)
After the game, Steve leaves, so Fulton yells at both Crists. Fulton says it's over and chokes them both for questioning them.
Rosemary talks to Taya Valkyrie's stuffed dog and implies that Taya is gone. John E. Bravo comes in to complain and Rosemary seems to apologize and almost flirts a bit.
XXXL vs. Fallah Bahh / TJP
Bahh and Acey start things and it's time for the energy block. Acey fails a dropkick in execution and splashes, allowing early tagging to TJP. Larry also goes in and pushes TJP without much effort. The right hands in the corner don't do much harm to Larry, so it's time to take off his legs. A low crossbody gives TJP two and Bahh comes back to hit Larry.
TJP starts working on the arm before Bahh becomes simple with the corner splash. However, Acey makes a blind tag from the apron and drops TJP with a shot while we take a break. Back with Larry with his chin open TJP before switching to a bear hug. Those aren't going anywhere, making it a spinebuster for two. The waist lock keeps TJP in trouble for a while, but Acey pulls Bahh out of the apron.
As is often the case, the hot tag passes only a few seconds later, which means Bahh can clean the house. Acey attacks Bahh to break the belly to the belly and TJP is sent outside. Now Acey is also knocked out and the belly against the belly gets two on Larry. Banzai's fall is broken but Bahh drops Larry. TJP adds a touch of frog to the pin on Larry at 1:38 p.m.
Outcome: Fallah Bahh / TJP b. XXXL – Frog Splashes to Larry (13:38)
TNA World Title: Moose vs. Suicide
Moose is defending and upon his request, we received the Big Match Intros and are now ready to start. Josh mentions that Suicide nearly won the title last week, which is why Madison says the Cleveland Indians ALMOST won the World Series. Moose loses the spear when Suicide runs the ropes from the start, even hanging on the ropes to make Moose lose a load on the ground.
Back and Suicide grabs something like an Octopus hold, followed by a kick in the basement to the side of the head. They head outside with Moose picking him up for a few hits on the barricade. Suicide has to plunge again, prompting Josh to say "and the party continues."
Back and Moose launches suicide without much effort, followed by a whip in the corner. There is another release when full domain is activated. Some ropes of clothing bounce off Moose and he wants to know if that's all Suicide has. However, a fourth clothesline throws Moose and he loses some charges on the corner.
Suicide hits a few corner dropkicks and a Lionsault gets two. That's enough for Moose when he gets serious and steps on suicide in the corner. Suicide is back with Codebreaker and some low superkicks, which means it's time to go up. The tall cross body connects, but Moose rolls and grabs the stockings to hold at 11:07.
Outcome: Moose b. Suicide – Rollup with Stockings (11:07)
Michael Elgin talks about how people might not like it now, but they will appreciate what it is. Ken Shamrock came in and talked about being the most dangerous man in the world. Then he was knocked out by someone tough. Elgin has promised to be world champion and what he says will happen happens.
Chris Bey gives Johnny Swinger a motivating talk. Swinger: "Thanks for being brother, brother." The first round on the airstrip is about him after he wins the title.
X-Division Title: Johnny Swinger vs. Willie Mack
Mack defends himself and Swinger jumps from behind to start. Some lunges in the corner set an elbow drop for two, as Josh believes that beating Swinger could open the door for a return from Simon Diamond. Mack grabs the spinning punch and drops one leg for two. Swinger Neckbreaker receives two, but Swinger celebrates anyway. That only earns him a Samoa drop to the standing moon to hold at 3:18.
Outcome: Willie Mack b. Johnny Swinger – Standing Moon Jump (3:18)
After the game, Swinger won't drop the title and will cut Mack's blocks. Cue Chris Bey for the double beating.
The North is still in Canada because Ethan Page has rented the sand for a month. The referee comes in, so here is Cody Deaner, of all people, to say that he will team up with the referee to play the titles. They will do it next week at the Deaner Compound. The North is inside but the referee says he cannot do this. Cody says he has another Deaner to be his true partner.
Preview of next week's program.
Contest tournament first round: Michael Elgin vs. Sami Callihan
Sami has a bad ankle coming in thanks to Ken Shamrock in Rebellion, so Elgin takes him to the corner and points to the ankle to get started. Sami's chops only annoy Elgin, so he kicks the ankle. That only earns him a rake, but Elgin goes back to the ankle and sends Sami to take a breath. Back and a quick DDT gives Sami two, followed by a kick to the ground.
Sami wraps her arm around the barricade so Elgin drops her leg first on the same barricade. Elgin sends the leg to the post to get a bonus, but Sami throws it straight in front of the post for a breather. Back from a breakup with Sami in big trouble, then Elgin extends her face to give Sami a free kick. A rollup gives Sami two and they hit him until Elgin hits him with a clothesline. However, Sami throws him to the floor and there is a suicide dive. Back and Sami pulls two out of a suplex, but Elgin crushes his leg again.
A knee shot in the corner takes two, followed by the half crab to make matters worse. That broke, but Sami collapses before the big clothesline connects. Sami runs a German suplex and his own clothesline has two. The Cactus Special is countered, but Elgin hits it with a spinning fist. Elgin's bomb sends Elgin to the next round at 6:48 p.m.
Outcome: Michael Elgin b. Sami Callihan – Elgin Bomb (18:48)
Here are the updated square brackets:
Ace Austin b. Rhino – Fold
Crazy steve b. Dave Crist – Medium Rope DDT
TJP / Fallah Bahh b. XXXL – Frog Splashes to Larry
Moose b. Suicide – Rollup with Stockings
Michael Elgin b. Sami Callihan – Elgin Bomb
