The breadth and coverage of 5G increased even more after Sky Mobile announced its launch of 5G networks in a wide range of cities and towns across the United Kingdom, including London, Edinburgh, Cardiff and, of course, Slough.
Sky Mobile is the sixth mobile network in the United Kingdom that advances to the next level of speed and latency, following the steps of EE, BT, Three, Vodafone and O2. And like those other networks, Sky Mobile 5G networks are mainly in cities for now.

That currently means Sky 5G coverage in: London, Edinburgh, Cardiff, Belfast, Leeds, Slough, Leicester, Lisburn, Manchester, Birmingham, Glasgow, Liverpool, Newcastle, Bradford, Sheffield, Coventry, Nottingham, Norwich, Bristol, Derby and Stoke.
Like Three and Vodafone, Sky Mobile offers the upgrade from 4G to 5G for free for both new and existing customers. Unlike the other two networks, Sky requires that you sign up for your free Sky VIP loyalty scheme to unlock free updates.
As part of this 5G update, Sky now offers 5G phones and only 5G SIM plans. However, to use them, you must be in one of the cities mentioned above and if you choose to obtain a 5G SIM, it must be used together with a 5G phone.
