Since Disney acquired the rights to Star Wars in 2012, they have been releasing new movies and series in Disney anthology series. The latest Disney anthology series is Star Wars: Visions which will release on this year. When will Star Wars: Visions Release?
Star Wars: Visions will come to a Disney Plus on September 22, 2021. We think new episodes will come out weekly and there are nine short films in total.
What is the plot of Star Wars: Visions?
Star Wars: Visions is a new series. Each episode has its own story and characters. This lets the creators make episodes without following along with a storyline that continues throughout all of them.
Each episode will have different art styles. One episode will be all black and white.
There are 6 different studios that have made different films. They are Kamikaze Douga, Geno Studio, Studio Colorido, Trigger, Kinema Citrus, and Production IG.
Some of the most exciting episodes on this list include a rock opera style take on the franchise. There is also an episode about twins who were born on the dark side. This is like when Luke and Leia were born. And there is one that looks like Astro Boy. One of the episodes will also tie in with an upcoming official Star Wars novel, Ronin.
It’s safe to say that this is Star Wars like you’ve never seen it before.
Who will be starring in Star Wars: Visions?
There are many studios working on these short movies. One of them is called Kamikaze Douga. It makes Twin Engine movies. Another one is Studio Colorido, which also makes Twin Engine movies. Trigger, Kinema Citrus, Science Saru, and Production IG are also making these short movies too!
The series will be made by Justin Leach, Jacqui Lopez, Josh Rimes, Kanako Shirasaki, and James Waugh. When it comes to voice acting for this series, we don’t have any names yet.
We have seen other anime compendiums in the past. They are collections of stories and settings. Netflix’s 2019 series, Love, Death & Robots, is an excellent 18-episode run that could be a template for Star Wars: Visions.
