Stranger Things season 4 teaser sends love from Russia with a familiar face

Hopper is alive! At least, it seems that it is.

Warning: Spoilers from previous Stranger Things seasons ahead.

Netflix launched a new teaser on Friday for next fourth season of Stranger Things, and with that a great revelation seems to come.

The brief clip shows what appear to be heavily armed Russian guards watching the prisoners while building a railway through a snowy landscape. At the end of the 45-second clip, we get what Stranger Things fans have been waiting for: Hopper!

Season 3 of Stranger Things ended with the possible heartbreaking loss of police chief Jim Hopper, played by David Harbor. However, in a disconcerting post-credits scene, viewers discover that there is an American held in a Russian prison where unfortunate prisoners are fed to a demogorgon.

The new advance seems to confirm that that is where Hopper ended. The Stranger Things account on Twitter too shared the new teaser Friday with the message "From Russia with love …"

We are still waiting for a release date for season 4. In November 2019, program writers tweeted a photo of the cover of the first script of the fourth season. The episode is called "The Hellfire Club," which is also the name of a group of supervillains in the X-Men comics.
