It has been a long time since the first season of the World Ends With You series, and the wait is nearly over for the final season. Cast and characters:
-Neku: the main protagonist of the story.
-Shiki: the first character the player meets. She is a very warm and kind girl who wants to help those around her, but she has a split personality that can be dangerous if it takes over.
-Joshua: the main antagonist of the story as well as Neku’s partner for the majority of the series, he is the one who wants to destroy the game and start a revolution in the real world.
-Beat: Neku’s best friend, he is the sensible member of the group often looking out for his friends when they are in trouble.
-Rhyme: Shiki’s split personality which controls her at times, she has much more of a forceful personality and is the polar opposite of Shiki.
-Eri: the owner of the pin Neku starts off the game with, she uses her power to help him escape the Reaper’s Game despite not knowing what it means for them both.
-Megumi Kitaniji: the Conductor who runs the game that the characters are playing, he is the one who gives the rules to them all and makes the final decision in the end.
-Mr Hanekoma: a cat pin designer that helps Neku out when they meet in the game world.
-Nao Yuuki: the owner of the Cat Street café in the game, is friends with Yodai Higashizawa and has a close bond with Shiki.
-Yodai Higashizawa: the leader of the gang that Mr Hanekoma belongs to in the game world known as CAT’S EYE, he becomes the final boss the group has to defeat.
-Eiji Oji: the leader of the gang that Shiki belongs to in the game world known as THE FUNKY MONKEY, he becomes a very important ally for the team and fights alongside them during the last battle.
Plot details of The World Ends With You 2:
The protagonist of the first game, Neku Sakuraba was reluctant to work with the new group for the upcoming battle as he had not been able to see Beat and Rhyme during the previous six weeks. Neku is a very cynical teenager whose life seems pretty much over until he wakes up one day having completed a strange game with the Reapers.
The sequel follows the storyline of the third week in this game, where Neku wakes up to find that his partners have all been killed and he must fight alongside them again if he wishes to get back home.
