Triple H did an interview with TMZ Sports where he shared the origin story of iconic The Rock finisher People & # 39; s Elbow.
Turns out, the finisher was created as a prank to make Undertaker laugh. He recalled how he, The Rock, Steve Austin, The Undertaker, Mick Foley and Kane would be working in teams of six men in The Attitude Era.
In many shows, while working on these matches, all the fighters tried to make The Undertaker break the character by doing silly things in the ring.
At the time and for most of his legendary career in the professional wrestling business, Taker took his character seriously and would not be out of character often in the public.
"I think the first time Rock did The People’s Elbow was in a game where we were trying to do‘ Taker crack. It started absolutely [as a joke] and then he was having a great reaction and everyone followed him. "
Once the move started to get over with fans, The Rock took it and started using it more frequently and eventually grew from there.
