Because Yash was coming off the blockbuster success of KGF Chapter 2 (Hindi), Toxic (Hindi) commanded a lucrative distribution agreement. Reports indicate the movie needed a net target of 200 crore just to break even. Given its opening of over 50 crore, many anticipated that the Hindi version would at least salvage its financial standing domestically, but it ultimately missed the mark.
