Allu Aravind says MS Subbulakshmi ‘chose’ Rashmika

Rashmika Mandanna is set to play MS Subbulakshmi in a forthcoming biopic directed by Gowtam Tinnanuri. According to producer Allu Aravind, MS Subbulakshmi personally selected Mandanna for the part. Actor Kamal Haasan has noted the heavy pressure that comes with taking on such a demanding character. Earlier reports had connected Sai Pallavi and Rukmini Vasanth to the biopic. The current project follows a previous, abandoned effort that was to star Vidya Balan.
