What is the information related to Emma Stone not suing Disney?
Scarlett Johansson’s lawsuit with Disney helped Emma Stone when she was negotiating for her role in Cruella 2. Earlier this year, Disney released their movie Cruella. It was a story about how villains are made and starred Emma Stone. The director of the movie is Craig Gillespie. When Disney came out with the first major movie after all of the box office problems, they also did a day and date release on Disney+. It seemed to work out well. Cruella came to the theater with $21 million. It has made an additional $226 million in the world and on Disney+.
Disney’s new streaming service has become very controversial. Johansson sued Disney at the beginning of July because it decided to make Black Widow available on streaming without negotiating a new deal with her, claiming that this was a breach of contract.
Other Things We Know About Emma Stone not suing Disney?
Stone used Johansson’s lawsuit as a way to get Disney to do what she wanted. She did not sue Disney but made them acknowledge that they should have negotiated a “buyout” of her box office bonuses on the first Cruella as Warner Bros. did for its 2021 movies. Before this, Disney would just add the cost of the tickets you buy to their box office earnings. From there, they would give Carol Stone a lot of money to make Cruella 2.
Though another lawsuit would have told Disney that they need to change their policy on Premier Access releases, Johansson’s Black Widow lawsuit made an impact on Stone’s Cruella 2 deal. If she had not threatened a lawsuit then Disney might not have given in to her demands.
When people heard that Scarlett Johansson sued Disney for money, some said that Emma Stone would do the same. But she will not do it. In fact, the opposite is happening. Stone is sticking with Disney to make a sequel to Cruella. The name of this movie is Cruella 2: Fashion Bugaloo. And that’s the market Disney most wants, because Youths eventually turn into Olds who produce Youths of their own and they take those Youths to Disney parks and on Disney cruises and to see Disney movies and keep the nostalgia circle alive forever and ever, amen.
