After a long wait, director Ram’s film Yezhu Kadal Yezhu Malai has been released in theaters. The film stars Nivin Pauly and Soori in the lead. Interestingly, the film releases right after the success of Bethlehem Kudumba Unit & Soori, which starred Nivin Pauly and Soori, respectively. However, it seems like their recent success may not be reflected in their new film, which brings them together for the very first time.
In the newly released Tamil film, Nivin Pualy plays an 8000-year-old immortal man in search of the woman he loved. In his hunt, he meets Soori’s characters in a train. Their interaction leads to svereal situations that become the main plot of the film.

The film had a slow start at the box office, with the advance booking opening only on Wednesday afternoon. In India, the film earned just 32 lakhs in advance collections. Netizens who watched the film on Thursday morning have shared their review on X.

The story revolves around a mysterious, immortal man and an ordinary man, with their journey unfolding aboard a train. The premise is genuinely interesting, and the fantasy element had a lot of potential. But Director Ram misses the opportunity with the Making and Screenplay.
Performance-wise, Nivin Pauly, Soori & Anjali are okay. However, #Soori’s One Liners don’t really work for the most part.
The First Half is literally a test of patience. The stretch from the Pre-Interval to the Interval is probably the only saving grace. But the Second Half gives the First Half an equal competition in terms of sluggishness.
Yuvan Shankar Raja’s Music works in a few places, but overall, it doesn’t feel like his usual best.
For Nivin Pauly and Soori, who are currently enjoying a strong run, this feels like a forgettable outing. If you’re an ardent fan of Director Ram’s filmmaking style, there might be something here for you.”
An audience member said the film is for appreciators of Ram’s films. “The first half is purely for lovers of Director Ram’s movies! He is exploring a new world here, Yezhezhu malai song visuals.”
