Avengers: Endgame – Encore India Box Office: 45,000 Tickets Sold In 5 Days, Can Marvel Re-Release Break Baahubali Record?

Following the success of Spider-Man: Brand New Day in India, the nation is preparing for another major Hollywood blockbuster event. Marvel is bringing back Avengers: Endgame – Encore to the big screen, equipped with extra footage to build anticipation for the December release of Avengers: Doomsday. Advance ticket sales are already underway, and the movie is quickly generating substantial pre-release revenue.

Avengers Endgame: Encore All Set For A Grand Start In India

The Marvel feature is slated to hit theaters on September 25. This special presentation includes additional footage and an exclusive post-credits scene previewing Avengers: Doomsday. Backed by a fiercely loyal Indian fan base, the movie is poised for a massive launch. Advance bookings kicked off on Thursday, September 10, a full 15 days before the official theatrical debut.

Within just five days, the feature has reportedly moved 45,000 tickets. With 10 days remaining until opening day, sales are expected to accelerate further as additional screens become available. Notably, ticket sales for Avengers: Endgame are outpacing those of numerous entirely new releases in India, despite this being a re-release with only a few minutes of added content.

Can It Surpass Baahubali?

Recent years have brought impressive re-release trends to the Indian box office, with several titles surpassing their original theatrical runs during their second outings. Currently, the first-day record for a re-release belongs to Baahubali: The Epic, a compilation of both films in the franchise, which brought in roughly 9 crore on opening day in India. Pawan Kalyan’s Gabbar Singh holds the second position with 5 crore, while Thalapathy Vijay’s Ghilli, Mahesh Babu’s Murari, and Sanam Teri Kasam each pulled in approximately 4 crore on day one.

Based on the current trajectory of its advance sales, Avengers is on track to easily outpace Ghilli, Murari, and Sanam Teri Kasam, and has a strong chance of beating Gabbar Singh as well. However, all attention is focused on whether it can challenge Baahubali. Doing so requires a double-digit opening day, which would make it the first re-release in India to achieve that milestone.

Given the reception of Spider-Man: Brand New Day and high excitement for Doomsday, Encore breaking every existing re-release record would not come as a shock. The film reportedly features roughly two minutes of fresh footage tied to Doomsday. While brief, this addition is significant for devoted followers of the cinematic universe. India’s robust market for Marvel productions frequently grants the country early access to these superhero films a day ahead of their global rollout.
