The Nivin Pauly and Mamitha Baiju-starrer Malayalam movie Bethlehem Kudumba Unit has achieved yet another milestone. This time, it has set a record for Mollywood. The Girish AD-directed rom-com is having a golden run at the domestic and overseas box office, continuing into its fifth weekend as well. The film has already become the biggest Mollywood grosser and has now registered a new feat.
Bethlehem Kudumba Unit Beats Narasimham
After 26 years, Nivin Pauly‘s rom-com has achieved a massive milestone. It has become the most-watched Malayalam film in theaters of the 21st century. The record was held by Mohanlal’s Narasimham (2000) for 26 years. The record has now been taken over by the rom-com within a month of its release. Currently, the top 5 films with the highest footfalls have three films released in the last 1 year. The other two films are among Mohanlal’s biggest hits, released pre-pandemic.

The Malayalam rom-com has successfully completed a month in theaters. It is probably the only Malayalam film in recent times to collect over 1 crore per day for 30 days. The film is still running in over 1000 screens in India. At the end of one month, the film’s net total stand sat 155.13 crore, which equals 183.05 crore gross. Overseas, the film has grossed 136.85 crore so far. This brings the film’s worldwide total to 319.9 crore.
