Kino Lorber recently released an excellent Blu-ray of this classic 1965 comedy based on the work of Herb Gardner. The film stars Robards (who originated the role on Broadway) as Murray Burns, an eccentric who quit his job writing for children's television to live a life of iconoclastic freedom. Unfortunately, Child Welfare investigates his bohemian lifestyle and considers him an inappropriate caretaker for his 11-year-old nephew, forcing him to choose between the life he loves and the child he cares for.

Although it was a success at the time (Martin Balsam won an Oscar, and the film was nominated 3 more times, including Best Picture), Thousand clowns it is largely forgotten now. Too bad, because this is a powerful and fun-to-feel-good movie with great performances everywhere, especially prominent director Gene Saks (The uneven couple) as Krusty the Clown-esque Leo "Chuckles the Chipmunk" Herman. This movie is light-hearted and smart, and it's a wonderful boost worth picking up.

The Oscar-winning six-time Oscar-winning post apocalyptic epic celebrates its fifth anniversary this year, and it's hard to believe that there are people who haven't experienced it yet! Tom Hardy, Charlize Theron and Nicholas Hoult give performances of a lifetime in one of the most fascinating and chaotic action thrillers in film history. Path of Fury It was a game changer with few (if any, some would say) in the genre capable of surpassing its stunning action and visually stunning storytelling. However, the film is much more than a big budget show. Carefully controlled insanity centers on a visceral narrative that never misses the beat, as the combination of unique and traumatized characters propels the story, navigating a horrifying and fantastic landscape in a desperate search for a safer homeland. With a confirmed prequel on the way, now is the perfect time to witness Miller at his best and see why Mad Max: Fury Road he is still at the top of his game.

While plunging into a complex and exhilarating book or movie may be just what the mind needs during these tough times for some, a good laugh is also a wonderful distraction from the dangers of the world and, at the same time, the realm of comedy. Standing has plenty of viable and hilarious options to choose from, one of the best is without a doubt the 2015 Kyle Kinane special I liked your old things better. Filmed at the historic 40 Watt Club in Athens, Georgia, Kinane's second special for Comedy Central sees the comic plot through grim but hilarious anecdotes and observations that prove to be infinitely hilarious throughout its 65-minute run time and it is easy enough to see. frequently.

Starring Dennis Quaid and Jim Caviezel, Frequency is a dramatic sci-fi thriller that follows the story of police detective John Sullivan, who on the eve of the 30th anniversary of his father's death somehow found a way to communicate with him in 1969 through an old radio amateur. . This 2000 movie is definitely an underrated science fiction drama classic that made a big impression on me when I first saw it through an HBO replay. He was very young when I first saw him, so he didn't remember the title of the movie at the time. Then it took me years before I finally rediscovered this gem again and it's still one of my all-time favorite movies. The most I like of FrequencyThe non-linear story is that it can be suspenseful and poignant at the same time. Although there are some holes in the plot with its time-doubling part of the story, the film still effectively delivers its message about family longing.

So if you are a fan of time travel movies or crime dramas with a twist, I recommend you visit Frequency!

As the thrillers progress, you can't do much better than Steven Spielberg's masterful Minority Report. I caught the movie on Netflix recently and was amazed at how well the movie holds up. Not just from a production standpoint, though John Williams' special effects, production design, and remarkable score deserve praise, but as a warning for our time. This movie predated social media by several years, and yet, with its unfavorable criticism of consumerism and its utter disregard for everything related to privacy, at one point in the best sequence in the movie, robotic spiders became meddling in an apartment full of people who give up arguments, sexual activities and other private matters to endure forced retinal exploration: Spielberg paints a bleak future occupied by impassive and impatient individuals who evade moral obligation for the sake of personal interests.

Also, it's a very good Tom Cruise movie.
