If you are a fan of folding phones, February has been a good month. Motorola launched its new folding phone Razr, with retro look, a shell design and a high folding screen. Tuesday at Samsung unpacked event in San Francisco, the Galaxy Z Flip debuted, which also has a folding phone design with folding screen. The Razr and the Galaxy Z Flip have both in common, as their high screens with a ratio of 21: 9, since they do it is different, including the fact that Motorola's folding screen is plastic, while Samsung uses a piece of ultrathin glass.

The Z Flip is Samsung's tracking at Galaxy Fold, while the Razr is Motorola's first and only folding phone. I spent a week testing the new Razr for an in-depth review, and had a practical time with the Z Flip in the Unpacked event. This is how the two phones compare.

The Razr costs $ 1,499, while the Z Flip costs $ 1,380. In terms of specifications, the Z Flip has a more powerful processor, two rear cameras, Android 10, a larger battery and double storage. Razr uses an eSIM and is sold as exclusive on Verizon. The Z Flip has a SIM card and can be purchased at any major US operator. UU..

They are about the same size, but the Razr feels heavier. When closed, the Z Flip has a square shape that mimics a Nintendo Gameboy Advance SP, the classic 2003 handheld console. When it opens, the Z Flip has a taller 6.7-inch OLED display, while the Razr has a 6.2 inch screen.

Both the screen and the body of the Z Flip fold perfectly in half. In the Razr, the screen is folded in half, but the lower part of the body is longer than the upper, like the 2004 Razr flip original phone. Razr's prominent chin is tall and sits flush when the body is closed.

Opening and closing both phones is wonderful. The Z Flip is easier to use and open with one hand, while the Razr has a more controlled opening and closing. As for closing the phone at once, the more flexible hinge of the Z Flip offers a more satisfying "zwap" sound.

Both phones have an external display. The Z Flip has a 1.1-inch wide pill-shaped screen on the outside that allows you to answer phone calls, interact with notifications and take selfies, as well as show the time, date and battery status. I should point out that both phones accumulate spots a bit, but the Galaxy Z Flip is on another level of stains.

The 2.7-inch exterior quick-view screen of the Razr works in two ways. When the phone is locked, it becomes a Peek screen and allows you to view notifications. When you unlock the screen, you get additional access to a mini control panel (brightness, flashlight, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and selfies) and you can interact with notifications. Press and hold an icon to quickly view messages and notifications. It is wonderfully discreet.
