Javed Akhtar: ‘There are 10 major religions in the world, to say that they are all the same is nonsense’

In a thoughtful critique, Javed Akhtar expresses doubts about the notion of consciously choosing one’s religion, arguing that many people inherit beliefs from their families without much thought. Although faith can be a source of comfort, it does not guarantee its validity. He champions the necessity of relying on rational thought and personal conviction rather than blind adherence. As an outspoken atheist, Javed persistently challenges established religious doctrines.
