Having made a huge impact on the Indian Smartphone market, Realme is all set to launch two of its models in India after getting a green signal from the Bureau of Indian Standards challenging the highly competitive ‘affordable smartphone segment’ in the country. The company is also eyeing the Chinese market where it aims to generate a similar response. Marking its debut in China is the rumored Realme X which is expected to be bigger and better than its predecessor the Realme 3 PRO.
The company is locking horns with Xiaomi as the phone is powered by a 730-Snapdragon chipset. Xiaomi had plans to release its Snapdragon-powered phones around the same time and this only intensifies the competition between the two companies.
A few features as seen in an online teaser video of Realme X reveals that the phone has a notch-less full-screen display. Expected to be around 6.5 inches and comes with an FHD+ resolution. The display is AMOLED and has an optical in-display fingerprint sensor.
It has a pop-up camera which rises from the center of the top frame when you are using the front camera. This also enables Realme to add in a face unlock feature. The pop-up camera allows for a notch-free display and an impressive viewable screen size.
Much like its predecessor the Realme 3 Pro the Realme X has a 3,680 mAh battery which is supported by VOOC 3.0 fast charging. This means you can expect a full charge of roughly about 60 minutes. The Realme X is said to be upgraded with a 48MP primary camera and a 5MP secondary camera for sensing depth. It is still unclear if the phone will be using a Samsung GM1 sensor or a Sony IMX586 sensor. The phone measures 161.2 x 76 x 9.4mm and will have a 3.5mm headphone jack. In terms of design, the Realme X will have a gradient design with a curved rear panel.
The Realme X would be released in three different variations:
- 6GB RAM + 64GB storage model which would be roughly priced at INR 16,400
- 6GB RAM + 128GB storage variant which would be roughly priced at INR 18,500 and the
- 8GB RAM + 128GB storage version which would be roughly priced at INR 20,500
