Pinterest released today its latest diversity report, which shows a slight increase in the representation of underrepresented minorities and at the same time achieves its three contracting objectives.
The company has long been recognized as an industry leader when it comes to promoting diversity and inclusion. It was one of the first technology companies to publish diversity data publicly, and in 2015, became the first to set specific hiring goals.
In his report today, Pinterest said it exceeded all of its hiring objectives, which focus on women engineers and underrepresented groups, as well as employees of companies and products of underrepresented groups. Women now represent 25% of the company's engineering team and underrepresented people represent 10% of the company in general: bHowever, as the three contracting objectives progressed, there were few changes in the general representation of underrepresented minorities year after year.
