Recent updates show that the Marvel feature has concluded its pre-sales for the September 25–27 window, having also hosted Thursday previews across a mere 4,000 screenings. Specifically, the Robert Downey Jr. vehicle brought in $3.1 million in pre-sales within China, while Thursday previews generated $975k.

Data shared in a report by box office analyst Luiz Fernando indicates that Avengers: Endgame has bested the pre-sales totals of several other MCU titles, including Black Panther: Wakanda Forever ($1.1 million), The Marvels ($1.5 million), and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3 ($3 million). It also came close to matching the $3.2 million pre-sales generated by Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning in the region.

Earlier projections suggested the film was on course to pull in more than $20 million in China during its reissue opening weekend. Current expectations place its three-day Chinese opening weekend between $14 million and $18 million. While it may fall short of Avatar’s $21.2 million debut from its 2021 re-release, it stands a chance of exceeding the $13.7 million reissue debut of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone to become the second-largest Hollywood re-release opening in China.
