The storyline of the Beavis and Butt-Head Do the Universe
A review that discusses the plot of the Beavis and Butt-Head Do the Universe. MTV’s Beavis and Butthead And does the World is a new show. It is an adaptation of Mike Judge’s animated television series, Beavis and Butt-Head, which aired from 1993 to 1997. The TV show takes place in a world where music videos are popular. The most popular video that the duo watches is “Where’s the Bathroom?” by Marilyn Manson.
The show opens with Beavis and Butt-Head watching a music video from 1967. A 40-ish man comes in and changes the channel to a music video from 1987. He then leaves Beavis and Butt-Head alone for a few minutes as he goes out to get his mail but tells them not to change the channel or touch anything else. The two do not listen, and when asked by the man whether they are watching MTV for the commercials, Beavis replies that he is.
A man comes in with a TV guide and tells them not to touch it. The men then come into their apartment, saying that the cable television service is about to be shut down and that they should watch an old music video from 1987 on a VHS tape that they brought with them.

‘Beavis as well as Butthead Save the World’ Mike Judge’s Famous Slackers Return in a Paramount+ Movie Trailer
It’s been 23 years since Mike Judge’s “Beavis and Butt-Head Do America,” and 16 since the last episode of the MTV show. But on September 28th, Judge will return to TV with a new half-hour animated series that brings back all your favorite characters – Beavis, Butt-head … and Daria! The new show is called “Beavis and Butt-Head Do the Universe.” It’s a theme-park ride of an episode (pictured above) that at once celebrates and derides the pop culture that inspired the show in the 1990s. In wide-eyed wonder, Beavis and Butt-Head visit a theme park chock full of references to their “favorite” movies, TV shows, video games, and rock stars.
It’s not lost on Judge that the show, coming a week after Labor Day, is arriving in a pop culture landscape very different from the one Beavis and Butt-Head first arrived in 1993. “I think that if you’re going to do mockumentary as an animated show, then you have to follow ‘South Park,’ because they kind of set the bar for that and made it popular again,” says Judge.
