Rajinikanth’s Jailer 2 shattered all projections at the North American box office (USA and Canada) in its 4-day extended opening weekend. While the premieres looked a bit underwhelming, given the massive pre-release expectations, the magnum opus surprised everyone with excellent numbers in the days that followed. How much did Jailer 2 earn at the North American box office in 4 days?

The Tamil action-comedy thriller grossed a solid $2.065 million (including premieres) on opening day. Due to favorable reactions, it maintained a good pace on day 2, amassing $875K. On the first Saturday, day 3, it picked up really well and grossed a huge $1.29 million. On Sunday, day 4, it saw an expected drop but still posted a strong $911K.

Overall, Jailer 2 grossed a whopping $5.17 million at the North American box office in its 4-day extended opening weekend. It equals 49.04 crore in Indian rupees. Of the $5.17 million, the original Tamil version contributed the most at $4.38 million, followed by the Telugu version at $760K. The Hindi version scored only $25K.

Recovers 79% of its break-even target

For those who don’t know, Jailer 2 must earn $6.5 million (61.66 crore) to achieve break-even.
