Assassin’s Creed has been a popular video game franchise for years, but now it will be coming to life on Netflix in the form of a live-action series. The first two episodes are scheduled to release this December and will be available exclusively on Netflix. This is not your typical Assassin’s Creed adaptation because there is no action happening as you watch, but instead, the show focuses more on history and lore from both the games and novels. It also stars one of Hollywood’s newest leading men, Michael Fassbender.

– Michael Fassbender as Callum Lynch: Callum, the main character of the show is a descendant of an ancient secret society.
– Marion Cotillard as Sophia Rikkin: Callum’s mother and scientist for Abstergo industries; she is on a mission to train him in order to locate long lost artefacts.
– Jeremy Irons as Alan Rikkin: The CEO of Abstergo Industries, and Sophia’s father.
– Michael K. Williams as Moussa: the leader of a gang in New York City, who is portrayed as an ally to Callum on his quest for redemption.
Callum Lynch (Michael Fassbender), is found guilty of murdering both his mother and father. Consequently, he is sentenced to death. As he awaits his execution, Callum’s memories are restored by the company Abstergo Industries and put in a machine called an Animus where he lives through the life of his ancestor Aguilar de Nerha (also Fassbender), who was a member of The Assassins Brotherhood

– Jeremy Irons as Harold Finch: CEO of Abstergo Industries’ Historical Research Division where the Assassin Brotherhood is studied and researched from a historical perspective.
– James Faulkner as Geoffrey: Sofia’s right-hand man, an obedient and loyal agent to the Rikkin family.
– Daniel Webber as Callum Lynch: A young man who’s been on death row for 15 years and has volunteered to have his memories examined by Rikkin, in exchange for a shorter sentence.
– Marion Cotillard plays Dr Sophia Rikkin: A leading genetic researcher for the Abstergo Foundation whose father is Alan Rikkin.
– Brendan Fletcher as Deacon: Sofia’s newest initiate.
Plot details:
It will explore how he comes into conflict with the modern-day Templar group and their conspiracy to control mankind’s free will.
The show is a major step for Netflix, which has been creating more original content in order to compete with HBO, Showtime, Amazon Prime Video, Hulu and other streaming providers. It also marks one of Ubisoft Entertainment’s first pieces of licensed entertainment media since revealing its new logo in June 2017.
