The Odyssey North America Box Office: Christopher Nolan’s Epic Overtakes Finding Nemo With 60-Day $1M+ Streak

Having spent nearly two months in global cinemas, Christopher Nolan’s epic continues to demonstrate staying power by reaching new milestones. The movie has successfully recorded a 60-day streak of pulling in over $1 million daily at the US domestic box office.

The Odyssey Beats Finding Nemo

Since premiering on July 17, the Matt Damon vehicle has consistently stayed above the $1 million threshold every single day, marking 60 consecutive days of this achievement. By surpassing Finding Nemo’s previous 59-day run, the feature has secured the 6th-longest $1 million daily streak in history.

Now in its 9th week, the picture brought in a solid $1 million on its 9th Monday. This brings its cumulative domestic earnings in the United States to $601.7 million.

The Odyssey Eyes $1.7 Billion In Worldwide Market

Having already surpassed $1 billion internationally, Christopher Nolan’s project is now targeting a global total of $1.7 billion. Reports indicate that the title pulled in $28.1 million during its 9th weekend overseas, reflecting a minimal 15% decline from the prior weekend. Box Office Mojo data shows the feature has reached a $1.09 billion international cume across 82 markets, pushing its worldwide gross to $1.68 billion.

For comparison, Disney’s Inside Out 2 finished its theatrical run in 2024 with $1.69 billion globally, ranking as the 11th highest-grossing film of all time worldwide. Universal’s The Odyssey is currently just a short distance away from overtaking that total.

To crack the all-time global top 10, the film must exceed $1.86 billion worldwide. Given that projections place the mythological epic’s final global haul between $1.8 billion and $1.9 billion, it is positioned to surpass Zootopia 2 and enter the top 10 worldwide list.
