In Brooklyn Nine-Nine Season Eight, Jake and Holt are back from their temporary reassignment in New Orleans where they were cleaning up a mess that happened while Peralta was undercover on the force.
Their return to Brooklyn brings a new sergeant (guest star, Sonya Walger) with them who seems intent on shaking things up and making the precinct competitive in relation to others across New York City.
Jake’s dad finds love after being set up through an online dating profile by Jake’s mom and a new cast member to the Nine-Nine, Gina Linetti (Chelsea Peretti) joins the squad.
