Newsdio Desk : The remark by Taslima Nasreen on how English Player Moeen requested his franchise to remove the “Bear” logo” that if he wasn’t playing cricket, he would be joining ISIS. Well, the remark has created never ending criticisms with many cricketers coming in support of Moeen Ali and the most vocal voice is naturally from his father. He is certainly very disturbed regarding how he was chosen and if he was to counter her attack, he would certainly be playing on the hands of many like her.
In what was a ‘clarification’ from the lady, she termed it to be a sarcasm to which his father asked to refer the dictionary to what is the actual meaning of the word. His father seems to be very disturbed and told the media, that he will prefer to react right on her face if he ever meets her.
He further said that it is certainly not right to spread poison on someone she really doesn’t personally know and then refer it as ‘sarcasm’.
He further spoke about how he moved to England from Pakistan occupied Kashmir and how was never able to pursue his dream of becoming a cricketer. But, that only consolidated his view to let his two sons enter the profession. He further spoke about Moeen has to face the hurdles because of his beard. While one of the incidents he spoke about how he began to bat for Worcester, many years before to which the crowd started shouting “Shave off the beard”. He further spoke many such incidents when his son has to bear the objections due to his faith. Many also objected to how an English player can sport a beard. But, he has certainly come off age, with the hurdles and is a strong man.
The father also personally contacted his son, over series of incidents to which his son in a determined voice spoke about his faith and that he will prefer to stop playing rather than choosing to shave off the beard.
He further spoke about his son who embraced Islam made him calmer as a person. Religion to him was never an obstacle when it came to establishing friendship. He quoted an incident of 2014 when he wore wristbands that read “Save Gaza” and “Free Palestine” while playing. However, when he was objected citing that this aspect isn’t allowed, then he never repeated the same.
He further spoke about he struggled to be what he is now. He further spoke about he financially struggled to accomplish the dream of his sons playing cricket even when he had limited means. He spent most of his earnings on transporting the sons to practise so that they never have to miss those important training session.
He further highlighted how his son was on a developmental tour to India was told by a coach whom Muneer Ali doesn’t want to name, told the son to trim off his beard. To which the cricketer said that he will rather prefer to stop playing rather than trimming off the beard.
