What Tuca and Bertie season 3 brings is a continuation of the love, friendships, and adventures that Tuca and Bertie have been living. Tuca’s life has changed since her breakup with Thalia: she’s now single again, teaching in New York City public schools at an elementary school in Brooklyn. And while Tuca is coming to terms with this new chapter in her life, she also finds herself looking for love on Tinder (again). Meanwhile, as Tuca navigates being single again, Bertie’s world gets turned upside down when she meets someone who turns out to be very different from what they first seem.
Cast and characters:
-Tuca: Tuca is Tuca. Her life has changed since her breakup with Thalia, but Tuca is just Tuca through and through.
-Thalia: Tuca’s ex who she broke up with in season two to pursue other things
-Bertie: Bertie now lives in Manhattan as a hedge fund manager at one of the most powerful firms in the city. Tuca is Tuca’s best friend who lives back home on their island of Manhattan Island and helps Bertie keep her feet firmly planted in reality
-Vulture: Tuca meets Vulture at a bar, but it turns out that they’re both dating each other (which Tuca finds out when she realizes that Vulture is the person Tuca has been texting.)
-Vivian: Vivian, Tuca’s friend with benefits who Tuca meets at a wedding and starts sleeping with again.
-Annie: Tuca befriends Annie in her small town where she moves to work for an artist on a restoration project.
Tuca and Bertie return for the third season of Tuca & Bertie, which finds our two best friends living in an age where women are freer than ever before. Tuca’s new job as a landscape designer often takes her to far-flung locales, while Bertie is plagued by indecision about what she should do with her life.
Tuca’s quest for a sense of belonging takes her to the desert, where she’s drawn into festering family drama; Bertie is tempted by her ex and finds herself stuck in Tuca’s old room back at home while Tuca is away.
We also get more insight into how their friendship became so strong: Tuca is torn between two guys and unable to decide which one she wants; Bertie starts sleeping with her best friend’s ex-boyfriend.
Tuca and Bertie season three continues the story of Tuca, a toucan who just can’t seem to settle down or find her place in the world. Tuca (voiced by Tiffany Haddish) now has a company with her best friend Bertie (voiced by Ali Wong), another bird from Tuca’s hometown.
