Wentworth is an Australian drama TV series based on the classic prison movie “Women’s Prison.” The show went from strength to strength after its release in 2013 and went on for eight seasons before Australia’s most-watched actress Nicole Kidman bought it out of production due to the fact that she didn’t want her daughters to watch it.
Maggie Doyle will also not be in season nine as she went to New Zealand for a long-term role in the last episode of Wentworth Season Eight. The show is set twenty years after Bea went into prison and will follow her daughter Maxine who has now been imprisoned herself, along with many other new faces that are all going through their own personal hells.
