What’s new in season three?
The Umbrella Academy season three is a return to The Umbrella Academy’s early days, with six episodes chronicling the first time they came together. The reason for this is that The Hargreeves family have been estranged since Ben became an inveterate drunk and went on rampages around civilization blowing up churches and shooting children (at least seven) who are adopted and meet under mysterious circumstances at The Umbrella Academy, a school for superheroes. The members of the team were born to one father but raised by different mothers around the world
The first season follows their origins as they come together while on an adventure that spans decades across time travel and parallel universes – from Victorian-era London to their far-flung future.
The second season takes place seven years after the first and focuses on The Umbrella Academy fighting an impending apocalypse by time traveling back in time themselves
The third season is set ten years later when The Umbrella Academy has disbanded following The Apocalypse – a global event that killed off all superheroes and most people. The Academy members are living their day-to-day lives, unaware of the looming danger that threatens reality.
