In an official statement the Asian Hockey Federation has said that continuous effort to bring back the lost sheen which hockey was missing for some time now, is now finally taking place. There is understandably a disruption on a global scale about the massive postponement of number of sporting related activities where hockey wasn’t an exception for sure.
AHF executive has termed it to be a battle which has been won against the virus, thanks to the firm determination which has played a pivotal role in creating the possibility of the same. The executive also takes the opportunity to congratulate the efforts of Asian Hockey family along with the Bangladesh Hockey Federation. Needless to mention, the love and continuous efforts of the fans which has made it possible for the sporting activity to take place.
The event will be highly interesting as six teams are taking part in what is termed to be quite a competitive one where six teams in the form of Japan, Korea, India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Malaysia will be taking part and all of them have their proven skills which make the competition further interesting.
Both the men’s and women’s tournament were to be held last year, but was later on scheduled from March 11 to 19 while the dates for women’s event were from March 31st to April 16th. However, later on the date of men’s event were changed to November 17 to 27 while women’s date were rescheduled from June 14 to 21st last year.
So, the sporting event has seen quite a number of postponements and now, one can be finally assured that such a magnitude of the event is finally going to take place amidst all its glory and perfection.
The fans are eagerly waiting for the event with bated breath as the event will bring a new ray of hope for bringing normalcy in the region already marred by frequent pandemic more than a year now.
