In 1985 director Rocky Morton wanted Nintendo for the rights of animating Super Mario Bros, but they refused, and he decided to make the animated movie.
In 1990 Morton was fired from directing super Mario bros when it came out because of his negative comments about Nintendo in an interview with a magazine. He had said: “No, I don’t want to work at No Fun Incorporated,” “I know that’s what they’re going to call it,” and “I don’t want to make toys.” After that, there was a new director for super Mario bros. The name of the original scriptwriter is Rodolphe Guenodenot.

In 1985 he wrote an article about the super Mario brothers in a French magazine called Microfilms. Rodolphe Guenodenot was also the first to think of super Mario bros as an animated movie. This is how it would work: First, you see a scene in New York City with buildings taller than anything seen before. Then, suddenly, there’s a cut-away,y, and we’re “in” the Mushroom Kingdom.
The super Mario bros are out flying their kite, and then it gets stuck in a tree. They climb up to get the kite down, but when they touch the ground again, two Goombas appear with spears. Super Mario bros learn how to do flips from one of them so he can “kill” them. Super Mario bros then buy a magic potion from the Mushroom seller to help him get back down and out of the kingdom.
Synopsis:
A super plumber named Mario has been entrusted with saving his princess peach from an evil king called Bowser. But it’s not going to be easy, as Mario will need super mushrooms, super fire flowers, and other items in order to defeat him.
The film ends with super Mario bros saving the princess and defeating King Koopa for good, but there is one final surprise in store for super Mario brother fans as he didn’t really defeat him at all! Instead, it was just a dream of Toad’s, which is interrupted when his alarm clock goes off early.
