NewsDio Desk : U.S Olympic athletes are very well on their way to get vaccination for a novel coronavirus and the process is going to be sooner than it was expected. The news comes in the wake of summer’s Tokyo Games. Sarah Hirshland CEO USOPC is quite optimistic about the fact that Team USA athletes will be ready by accomplishing different set of duties which are there for them to follow like vaccination. The process will be completed before the games, as then it will give them opportunity to conduct trails as well. She further expressed satisfaction about the news that the players are highly positive regarding the progress which she is seeing in US, with regards to the vaccines.
As per the reports, there have been 128 million doses of Covid 19 vaccines have been dispatched in the country while whopping 96 million shots have been administered as well. This figure has come to the fore from the data associated with U.S centers for disease control and prevention.
Athletes are going to get vaccinated right in their local communities and they are expected to get the doses as early as May.
Although, USOPC has not made it compulsory for the athletes to get vaccinated, in order to participate in the Olympic, yet it is hopeful that the players will readily take the vaccines on their own by realizing their duty. Hence, if they do so, then it is certainly going to inspire one and all.
However, Hirshland is of the view that in no way that the players will be pressurized and if any specific player chooses not to take vaccine, then the board is going to respect the rights of player as well.
