Funeral prayers of Dr. Abu Salman Shah Jahan Puri were offered at Osmania Mosque, Darul Uloom Islamia University, Water Pump Chowrangi Federal B Area. He was the author of dozens of research articles and books and was considered a ‘authority’ on Imam-ul-Hind Maulana Abul Kalam Azad.
The city of his research was uniform in the scholarly circles of Pak-Wahdat, and his books and research were considered a reference. Academic circles in India and Pakistan have expressed deep sorrow over his demise and extended their heartfelt condolences to his family.
Dr. Abu Salman migrated to Pakistan in 1951 and then taught at Hamid Badawi College, Karachi and then engaged in various other scientific and research activities.
During the 1986 riots in Karachi, rioters attacked and set fire to large-scale houses in Aligarh Colony, engulfing the home and library of Dr. Abu Salman Shah Jahanpuri and hundreds of his rare books and historical documents. According to the data, he was born in 1940 in Shah Jahanpur (Rohil Khand, UP).
